What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Brahmagiri Hill offers a rewarding trek with stunning views and spiritual significance, making it a popular destination. While the paths are generally well-maintained, some visitors note the presence of litter. The trek is manageable for most, with early mornings recommended to avoid crowds and heat.
"Went for a trek to Brahmagiri today and it was a really nice experience. The trek starts just ahead of Trimbakeshwar temple – around 800 meters ahead there’s a parking spot where you can leave your vehicle. Shops nearby also keep your helmet or bag safely without charging anything.
The trek itself is scenic and enjoyable, though sadly there is quite a bit of plastic litter along the way. Once you reach the top, you can take two routes – one goes slightly down (about 400–500 meters) to the Brahmagiri temple, and the other towards another temple.
For someone with average fitness, the entire trek takes about 2 hours (to and fro, including breaks). Carry some cash as UPI signals may not work throughout. Walking sticks are available at the base for ₹20 (with ₹10 refunded on return). They are useful as a deterrent for monkeys, but there’s no need to actually use them – the monkeys don’t really bother you. Try to trek in groups if possible.
One tip: avoid stepping on green-colored stones as they may be slippery due to algae, though overall the route is safe and not too slippery.
A memorable trek with beautiful views – definitely worth a visit!"

"Brahmagiri Hill is a rewarding trek that fuses nature’s beauty, spiritual heritage, and moderate adventure. If you're up for around 2–3 hours of trekking, it’s a highly recommended experience, especially during the monsoon or winter seasons—just stay mindful of safety tips and preserve its pristine charm."

"Breathing views, meditative temple and fabulous fort carved on rocks , I started solo trekking early morning ( 5.30 am ) as soon as there was some light, picked up a stick on the way to wade off monkeys, and reached the temple by 6.45 , the climb is well defined path , mostly with stairs and railing , enjoyed the sunrise on the way, the top Was still misty, hence visibility was low , also the stairs are slippery specially on way back, but overall loved it ."
