Why don't we have beautiful libraries in Mumbai or Delhi like they have in London or New York? Is it really expensive to operate a library that it is considered a loss or tax money??

Libraries are a beautiful place to spend time alone and free. Also beautiful libraries are a good tourist place. London and New York and Alexandria ( in Egypt) have large beautiful libraries... Why can't we have large well made libraries in Mumbai or Delhi :/

David Sassoon Library and Reading Room is one of the oldest heritage libraries in the city. And here’s why you need to visit it.

Built in 1870, right in the heart of town (opposite Kala Ghoda, to be precise), this beautiful heritage building with arches, a garden and old-world tiles, lets its members sit in the large garden space and munch on their favorite snacks.
