Reviews Summary

Jogeshwari Caves are a significant historical and spiritual site in Mumbai, praised for their ancient rock-cut architecture and the impressive idol of Goddess Jogeshwari. Visitors appreciate the spiritual ambiance and the glimpse into India's past. However, some reviews mention that maintenance could be improved, with issues like encroachment and insufficient lighting affecting the overall experience.

"The Jogeshwari Caves are some of the earliest Hinduism cave temple sculptures located in the Mumbai in Jogeshwari, India. The caves date back to the sixth century, Chalukya dynasty. They were found during the excavation of Ajanta and Elephanta. These caves belong to the Hindu deity Jogeshwari.
The caves are divided into two parts. The part down side is dark and some temples are present there where local people come for worship.
The caves are located off the Western Express Highway, and are surrounded by encroachments. The caves are accessed through a long flight of stairs into the main hall of this cavernous space. It has many pillars and a lingam at the end. There are also relics of two doorkeepers. The cave also has a idol of the goddess Jogeshwari, after whom the area is named.
If you like and have some spare time, you can come here for a quick visit."
