Reviews Summary

Visitors note that the Government Sandalwood Oil Factory is currently closed for tours, which can be disappointing as this information isn't always updated. However, the adjacent government outlet is praised for offering authentic sandalwood products like soaps and incense at fair prices. The historical significance of the factory and its distillation process is acknowledged, even if direct viewing is not possible.

"Located near Ashokapuram, this govt sandalwood oil factory is NOT OPEN for visitors since outbreak of COVID-19. Unfortunately, the same is not updated anywhere and the localites are also not aware about the fact. However, the security guard in the gate of the factory was very nice and helpful to show us the way to the Govt sandalwood product outlet which is just in proximity. The outlet is small but has good collection of sandalwood soaps, powders, incense sticks, hygiene products and camphor cubes. We also got to know not to buy sandalwood oil from any unauthorised places as the oil is very expensive and chances of getting cheated is more. Overall verdict- definitely recommended for the visit to the outlet but please check about the status of the factory prior you plan."
