What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Lalitha Mahal Palace offers a unique stay with its grand architecture and colonial charm, often praised for its attentive staff and serene environment. However, some guests find the rooms in need of updates and dining experiences to be expensive with occasional hygiene concerns. It's a place best approached with managed expectations for a historical experience.
"We stayed at this "palace" and it was an experience. It's old but maintained, with a colonial-era vibe. The staff's super nice, and the greenery around is chill. But, the rooms need some TLC - leaky bathroom fixtures, chipped furniture, and a wonky TV. For the price, we expected more. The pool and garden view were highlights, though. Food was a pleasant surprise, especially breakfast. Kudos to the management for marketing it as a 3-star; our expectations were just right. Worth a visit, but maybe not the splurge."

"A beautiful palace of our maharajas which is now converted into a posh hotel. Located on the way to chamundi hills, the beautiful palace and it's sorroundings will take you to other world for sure.
Mysore itself is a wonderful place. And this Lalitha Mahal is CHERRY ON THE CAKE."

"DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE. We went to Lalitha Palace Mysore for dinner, and to our horror, the soup came with COCKROACHES in it. Yes, actual cockroaches floating in the food they served us.
This is beyond unacceptable. It shows zero hygiene, zero care, and zero responsibility toward customers. If this is what ends up on the table, I can’t imagine how dirty the kitchen must be. What’s worse, the management didn’t seem shocked or apologetic—like it was no big deal.
For a place that tries to market itself as “royal” and “palatial,” it was nothing short of a nightmare. Dirty, careless, and unsafe.
Save yourself the regret. DO NOT eat here. Mysore has far better, cleaner restaurants where at least you won’t have to worry about cockroaches in your food."
