Reviews Summary

Kamalgad Fort is lauded as a hidden gem for trekkers and nature enthusiasts, offering challenging trails and rewarding panoramic views. Visitors appreciate its offbeat nature, solitude, and the raw beauty of its dense jungle surroundings. However, the trek's difficulty, especially from Paratwadi, and the potential for getting lost are frequently mentioned challenges.

"Very beautiful place for the trek, for biginners it’s should be tough.
2.5-3 hrs trek.
carry water & food as there no availability.
On the top kavechi vihir is there which is the only place to see on the top.
prefer the group instead of solo or two as the road is confusing some time.
there is A temple of Gorakshnath maharaj where you can stay on your own tent else after temple there is plane land there you can plant your tent."

"One of the most difficult trek. There are 45 degree climb. We took route from Partawadi, it was difficult route with no markings. Recommend to take trek route from Nandgane.
Climbing is hard and getting down is even harder. Carry a trekking stick for proper support and balance.
Carry water bottle.
The scenery from above is unmatched and the dense forest adds the beauty to wilderness."

"Kamalgad Fort Trek Review

Kamalgad Fort is truly an offbeat and less-explored destination. When we visited on a Sunday, surprisingly, there were only two groups – ours and another group of three people. So, if you love solitude and nature, this is the place for you.

Trek Difficulty:
The trek to Kamalgad is quite challenging. The terrain is slippery in some places, and the route can be confusing. To reach the starting point itself, you have to climb one mountain, then another, and then one more! It feels like a trek before the actual trek begins. There is also a dense forest area, so it’s very easy to lose the way if you are not careful. A local guide or offline map is highly recommended.

Nature & Wildlife:
The fort area is surrounded by thick jungle, making it a paradise for nature lovers. We spotted various bird species and even came across a dead animal, likely hunted by a wild predator, which reminds you that wildlife is active here. So, be cautious and alert.

Overall Experience:
Kamalgad Fort is best suited for experienced trekkers or those looking for an adventurous and challenging jungle trek. If you enjoy peace, raw nature, and a bit of thrill, you’ll love it. Just be well-prepared, carry enough water, and ensure you know the route because getting lost is very easy."
