What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors highlight the Ganga Godavari Temple's deep spiritual significance and its location on the sacred Godavari River, often visited for cleansing rituals. However, many reviews point out significant cleanliness issues and a lack of maintenance in the temple surroundings and ghats, detracting from the overall experience.
"Not at all kempt At All.. the place is littered n unhygenic.
For a place of worship and also one known for all the afterlife rituals it should be well maintained n atleast clean.
Not that it doesnot get much footfalls.
We visited on a very odd day and time of the year, yet still the place ws decently crowded.
U dont feel like sitting on anything there, or doing the main purpose of visit to the place ( to cleanse urself of past deeds or any sins done in this life too) by taking a dip in the 'holy' waters of GangaGodavari.
Bt take one look at the place and all u can do is stop urself frm puking in public (this sadly is true for most of the holy places in india).
But we indians are resilient lot and in the name of religion, gods, goddesses (small big all types) we do whatever is being dictated to us by the 'pandas' (pandits, bhattjis...) calling it age old rituals for peace, harmony n moksh (salvation) of the dead / forefathers.
Humble, Folded Hands request to the concerned authorities, municipality, mayor / parishad people,
Kindly Look into the Matter.
Theres ample space there to be developed into a beautiful clean space and u cn attract much more people there for tourism purpose, rather than just sad rituals.
The photos posted by me r some of the more decent places of the area."
