Isa Khan Niazi, whose tomb is at the centre of the complex, was a noble in the court of Sher Shah Suri, and his tomb was built in the year 1547, much before Humayun’s Tomb.
The tomb is built in Afghan-style architecture and has a unique octagonal shape, surrounded by a lovely garden enclosed within high walls. The detailed stone lattice work (jaali), beautiful arches, and the red and grey sandstone make the structure look very elegant and artistic.
