What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Keshavraiji Temple in Bet Dwarka is a significant pilgrimage site, lauded for its spiritual importance and the legendary tale of Sudhama and Krishna. Visitors appreciate the affordable boat ride and the island's historical context. However, the temple can get extremely crowded, and the strict no-phone policy requires advance preparation.
"We proceeded to the beautiful island of Beyt Dwaraka by boat, from Okha jetty (ride takes around half an hour). This is the place where Sudhama gave a gift (Beyt or Bhent in Hindi) of a handful of Phowa (flattened rice) to his dear friend Lord Krishna during their re-union after many years. I have written a detailed article about our Gujarat trip. You can search for it using the keywords - lets go Gujarat. This might help you plan your trip better.
From the jetty, proceed by walk to the beautiful Shri Keshavraiji Temple, constructed here by the Pushkarni community several hundred years back. Due to erosion from the sea, large part of this island has sunk underwater and ASI continues to excavate the surrounding areas of this island from decades. The public boat costs just Rs.20 to cross over, when we visited. But they make sure it’s filled to the brim and you travel at your own risk! (but it’s generally safe by God's grace!)."

"I recently visited the Shri Keshavraji Temple, and while the experience was enriching, there are a few things to keep in mind. First off, the temple gets really crowded, especially later in the day. To make the most of your visit, I highly recommend going early in the morning when the crowds are thinner, and you can experience the peace and serenity of the place.
Also, keep in mind that phones are not allowed inside the temple, so be prepared to leave them behind in a designated area. The entry process takes a bit of time due to security checks, so arriving early gives you the chance to avoid delays and make the most of your time there.
Overall, the temple is a beautiful place with rich spiritual significance, but planning ahead by visiting early will definitely enhance your experience!"
