Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Fontainhas for its stunning Portuguese architecture and vibrant, colorful streets, describing it as a step back in time. The heritage walks are highly recommended for their insightful historical narratives. Some find the area can get crowded during peak times, and dining options are limited to charming cafes.

"We went for two heritage walks on the same day. And it has been a fantastic experience.

1. At Fontainhas we took the Latin Quarter walk hosted by Rachana Pednekar. Having grown up in Panjim, her excitement, knowledge and ability to keep us engaged throughout the walk was such a delight. We were lucky enough to be blessed with a cool monsoon weather and the off season helped us by being the only people on the group. Although, I'm told she regularly handles large groups with ease. Having visited Fontainhas so many times before, it was amazing to discover the long drawn history and events that shaped the people, culture, architecture in the area. The walk included pleasant surprises such a walk through a historic art gallery, bakery and a performance of local konkani songs by one of their staff. As a bonus, Rachana is also a graphics and media major, so we got to see some of her sketches, collections of the places souvenirs as well as photography.

2. In the afternoon we went for the Old Goa heritage walk hosted by Yashasvi Tamse. She being a historian herself and being a native Goan, her knowledge was impeccable. She kept us engaged throughout the walk by throwing so many facts and lores about the places. Her storytelling made us visualize the past history of the erstwhile capital of the Portuguese kingdom.

Absolutely loved the entire experience and I'd highly recommend anyone who is interested to know about the places to go for this. It's an all round well balanced journey that leaves your heart and mind content."

"We did the Saligao village with our walk leader Rachana, who met us with the cheeriest of smiles and an evident intention of making our experience a memorable and enriching one.
The fact that there were just the two of us did not deter either Make it Happen or her from carrying on with the walk, and making it special for us.

Rachana was so knowledgeable and passionate in her narration of the history of Goa and Saligao, and the current happenings here as well. We loved the time spent with her, as also her inputs which she continued to share even after we had parted.
I especially loved her sketch book which was every bit the love of an artist as well as a history buff.

It's agencies like Make it Happen and storytellers like Rachana who so enhance our experience of the city we're visiting, adding to it several new dimensions and making us want to visit again and explore much much more"

suneeti bhalla

"I did the Panjim Art Saunter with Rachana and I have to say it was the highlight of my trip to Goa! We explored panjim through art which was really lovely and Rachana was so nice I felt like a made a new friend instantly. What a great way to explore the city and to get to know about the place’s history and be creative while you’re at it! We also stopped for some delicious snacks and Rachana got the best photographs I now keep as a memory.
A must when in Goa and Panjim!"
