What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Arail Ghat is praised for its peaceful and spiritual ambiance, offering a serene alternative to the busier Sangam. Visitors love the stunning sunrise and sunset views, the opportunity for boat rides to the Triveni Sangam, and the tranquil riverside setting. Some note limited amenities and recommend carrying snacks and water.
"I recently visited Arail Ghat on the opposite bank of Sangam in Prayagraj, and the experience was truly peaceful and spiritual. While most tourists visit the main Sangam side, the Arail Ghat offers a quieter, less crowded view of the holy confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati.
The view from this side is absolutely stunning, especially during sunrise and sunset. You can see boats gently floating across the river, priests performing aartis, and pilgrims taking holy dips with full devotion. I was lucky to witness the morning Ganga Aarti — the chants, the sound of the bells, and the reflection of flames on the water created a divine atmosphere that’s hard to describe in words.
What I loved most about Arail Ghat is its calmness. Unlike the hustle and bustle of the main Sangam area, here you can sit peacefully on the steps, meditate, take photos, or simply admire the flowing river and skyline of Prayagraj. It’s a great spot for those who want to experience Sangam in a more relaxed and reflective way.
You can reach Arail Ghat either via boat from Sangam or by road through Naini. It’s advisable to visit early in the morning or late evening for the best experience. Also, do carry water bottles and some snacks, as there are limited shops nearby.
Overall, Arail Ghat is a hidden gem for anyone looking to connect with spirituality, nature, and tradition — all at once. Whether you're a pilgrim, a traveler, or a local explorer, I highly recommend spending time here.

"Visited Triveni Sangam on 21/2/25 between 12 to 2:30 pm. We had to deboard our bus about 18 km before the Sangam on the highway. Took 2 bikes to reach Arail ghat. Travelled in a row boat to Triveni Sangam to take the holy dip. Its was an overwhelming experience. The water was only knee deep & not very cold. About 83 lacs took the dip on that day. Previous day it was more than 1.25 crores. A total of 66.30 crores took the holy dip. Felt great being a part of the greatest & largest human congregation in the human history."
