"I finally got to visit Santala Devi Mandir, something I had been planning for so long — and the biggest happiness was finally being there! 🙏
The trek is about 1.5 km, but don’t be fooled by the short distance — it’s quite steep and does require you to stop at intervals. Thankfully, there are benches at regular points which make the climb manageable.
Once you reach the top, the darshan is truly pious and peaceful, making the effort worth it. The local people here are very kind, humble, and always ready to help, which adds to the warmth of the experience.
There are also small food stalls at the top where we enjoyed pakoras, bread pakora, Maggi, and chowmein. They even had momos, though we didn’t try them. You can get cold drinks and tea here, but not coffee.
One thing to keep in mind: there are monkeys at the top, so be careful with your belongings and food. Luckily, there are none at the trek starting point.
✨ Overall, it’s a wonderful blend of spirituality, nature, helpful locals, and a small adventure — definitely a place worth visiting if you’re around Dehradun."

"This is a temple located on hill top little away from the main town. Good combination of hiking and religious activity.
During summer advise is to go there early morning as the weather is manageable and it is relatively less crowded.
Though there are lot of reviews that say it is about 700 stairs, however, it is more of combination of gradual and steep inclines with cemented path.
This can be counted as a moderate hike. For a novice who is not used to going on steep inclines, it may take 40-50 mins to reach the top.
Climbing down is lot more demanding than going up.
The views from the top are great. Temple itself is neat and clean and peaceful. There are lot of eateries once you reach the top and you can relax there for couple of hours before you start the climb down.
There are no tickets or charges to visit the temple.
This place is definitely worth visiting."
