"The Mohandas Gandhi High School is a former school converted museum dedicated to the entire life of Gandhi. The name of the school is Alfred High School, but commonly called by the name of it’s most prestigious graduate.
The entrance fee is even more discriminatory than the usual 10x for foreigners and I was conflicted about paying 15x compared to a local. I initially started off visiting a couple of rooms and then an employee began to guide me through the remainder of the museum because it was part of the ticket. There are over forty rooms in total, each depicting the life of Gandhi in chronological order. Each room has a good amount of information and exhibits on display.
Here’s the problem with the guide. The guide takes you through each room and talks about each room. Each room has more information than the guide gives and I would often want to spend more time in the room, except for the guide wanting me to move to the next room. Don’t get me wrong, the guide spoke good English and did a good job of explaining the contents and theme of the room. I just wanted to do things at my own pace.
Overall, the museum is excellent, but the price for foreigners and the guide rushing me through the museum was too annoying."
