Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Houses of Goa Museum for its unique ship-like architecture and its insightful collection of Goan colonial-era artifacts. The adjacent Mario Gallery and the on-site cafe are also highlighted as enjoyable additions. While some find the ticket price a bit high, most agree it's a worthwhile and educational experience, especially with a knowledgeable guide.

"Houses of Goa Museum is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. As an architect, I’d say it’s worth a visit at least once. Goa has some of the most beautiful houses in India, and the western influence on its architecture makes it fascinating to learn about.

The building itself is a piece of art—very unique in its form and execution. But what made my visit extra special was the male tour guide there. He’s an absolute gem—friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable. He not only explained the details in depth but also went out of his way to help visitors, cracking jokes, taking photos for people, and making the whole experience so much more engaging. Honestly, he added a personal touch that made the museum feel alive.

There’s also a small gallery nearby where you can buy souvenirs. Overall, I’d call it a must-visit spot in Goa, at least once."

"If you love history, then you must visit this place. The ticket price per person is ₹150, and you get a 50% discount. You can use the ₹50 in their cafe or if you buy any souvenir. I used to pass by this place many times when we visited our relatives, I always thought of visiting this place. I had a great experience reading the information they have put there. The ticket price is a bit high but it's worth visiting once."

"One of the best places to see in North goa. A hidden gem. Cool cafe, school, hanging bridge, and awesome street. Must eat at the usual and beautiful cafe in middle of the road with 180 degree views. Their chocolate milk shake, brownies, chocolate chip cookies are a must try."
