"I drove from Bangalore to Sankagiri just to trek this awesome hill on an early Sept 2025. I am 63 years old and it is as usual, my Solo trek. No risks, no wild animals, only aggressive monkeys in the hill.
Starting the trek at 6.30am, the starting point of the hill altitude measured 340Mtrs on my altimeter. Beautiful ancient temples at the base and along the hill, all closed! Steep, tree covered trek trail requires to carry good amount of water to keep hydrated, and a good trekking pole to keep the aggressive monkeys away. The highest point of the hill measures about 725M, and took me about 2 hours hiking with many stops along the trail to capture beautiful scenes along. Good to hike early morning; as the day advances the heat & humidity gets high.
Parking available at base. No fees for going to the hill. Gate opens at 6am, closes by 5.30pm. Lots of plastic trash left behind by some of our visitors all along the trek trail 😡"
