What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Savandurga Hill is lauded for its challenging yet rewarding trek and breathtaking summit views, making it a popular weekend getaway. While the adventure is highly praised, visitors consistently mention the necessity of advance online booking and the demanding nature of the rocky, steep terrain, especially during the monsoon.
"A very challenging rocky trek, specially during rainy season. We went few days back with a trekking group, it was raining heavily the other night, so the rock is very slippery. Get some grip shoes otherwise you will fall at every step. There’s also a temple on the foot of the hill. The trek is steep at multiple places, you while descent you will have to get down on your fours. There are no food stalls uphill so be prepared accordingly. Carry sunscreen, glasses, caps, jacket, rain coat, food and drinks. There are also no washrooms so be prepared. You would need a permit to do the trek. It’s a fun trek for those who trek often but for new ones it could be difficult. The views uphill are beautiful but during rainy season you may not see any sunrise."

👨👩👧 Families with Kids
An alternative for families seeking a less strenuous experience might be to visit the Savandurga Temple at the base of the hill and enjoy the views from there, rather than attempting the full trek. Consider bringing a sturdy tripod for stable shots in varying light conditions. Remember to protect your gear from dust and potential moisture, especially if visiting during or after the monsoon. The ancient temple at the base also offers unique architectural and cultural photographic subjects.
