I left my heart in Shangarh.
I visited shangarh for 6 days just last week. The place was dreamy, after the rains when weather clears the whole valley started looking like a painting. The views from my stay was incredible as it was perched on a top. You could see the snow clad mountains from your bed.

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Shangarh Meadows is praised for its breathtaking natural beauty, serene atmosphere, and stunning mountain vistas, offering a peaceful escape. However, visitors often note the challenging road conditions and limited amenities, suggesting it's more about natural immersion than extensive facilities.
"Recently returned from a Sainj Valley trip, and one of the spots we covered was the much-talked-about Shangarh Meadows.
When we arrived, it started raining—though a bit disappointing at first, the weather soon cleared up and we were rewarded with stunning views. The lush green meadows surrounded by mountains looked absolutely serene.
There isn’t a lot to “do” here per se—it's more of a peaceful place where you can relax, admire the greenery, click some nice pictures, and visit the local temple. There are a few snack shops at the start, a couple of homestays, and a basic car parking area.
The drive from Sainj Valley to Shangarh is quite tricky and tiring, especially in the rain. Wouldn’t recommend it during heavy showers unless you're confident driving on narrow, rough mountain roads.
Some influencers call it the "Mini Switzerland of India"—personally, I wouldn’t go that far. But yes, it’s definitely beautiful in its own way, and the natural greenery is absolutely mesmerizing."

"I was amazed by the beauty of this village firstly. However, reaching this place in a budget is kinda tough 😅, on Sundays there is no bus service available for this town and I was not aware about this, so you need to get a taxi for yourself which can cost you around 2000 from Aut, but the stunning views of this village can make all worth it and you'll fall in love with the nature, the Mountains ⛰️, the lush green valleys and the birds chirping which given me peace."

"A huge meadow among the mountains , it's the land of their local deity. Pristine and peaceful , you also get a very beautiful view of the snow clad mountains.
Do check out the Zostel cafe there.
A very good place to sit, relax or read a book."
