What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the unique, meditative idol of Yoga Narasimha and the convenience of the rope car for reaching the hilltop shrine. The panoramic views are also a significant highlight. However, many caution about the aggressive monkeys and the temple's upkeep, noting it could be better lit and maintained.
"I visited the Yoga Narasimhar Temple in Sholingur on Monday morning by 10 am and opted for the rope car service. A maximum of around 1000 pilgrims are allowed per day, which helps control crowding.
Even on a weekday, the total duration — including waiting time, ascent, darshan, and return — took us about 2 hours. The rope car made the climb very comfortable, especially considering the 1400+ steps that would otherwise be required to reach the hilltop shrine."

"⭐ Sholingar Narasimhar Temple — A Divine Hilltop with Rope Car Facility 🙏✨
Sholingar Narasimhar Temple is one of the most sacred and scenic temples in Tamil Nadu. The temple sits beautifully on a hill with around 1305 steps, and the spiritual climb gives a peaceful experience. Many devotees prefer to climb the steps for blessings, while others use the rope car facility, which makes the journey easier. 🚡
The rope car ticket costs around ₹50 for a single trip and ₹100 for a round trip. It’s well maintained and safe. Some people climb up by steps and come down using the rope car — a perfect mix of devotion and comfort.
During weekends, the rope car queue can get a bit crowded, so it’s better to plan early. The view from the top is mesmerizing — you can feel the divine breeze and see the entire Sholingar town from above. 🌄
Overall, a must-visit spot for devotees and travelers — combining spiritual peace, natural beauty, and a bit of adventure! 🛕❤️"

This meditative posture is believed to signify the deity's profound contemplation and inner peace. Visitors often describe a sense of calm and tranquility upon beholding the idol. The temple's spiritual significance is further amplified by its status as one of the 108 Divya Desams, revered Vaishnavite shrines.
