"We visited this place on Sunday, and it wasn't crowded. There are around 400 steps to climb, but they’re not too difficult. At the top, you'll find several Basadis, each showcasing impressive architecture and unique stories. We went around 12 PM when it was quite sunny, but the climb was still manageable. From the hilltop, you can also get a clear view of the Gommateshwara statue."

"A small , but beautiful and serene shrine to Parshwanatha , built in Hoysala style , situated at the foot of a rock strewn hill , a short distance away from city center .
Built in 1181 AD , commissioned by Achala Devi , the wife of a minister named Chandramouli in thecourt of King Veera Ballala II . It is called Akkana Basadi ( Elder Sister’s Shrine) in fond memory of that pious lady .
Structure is simple , with images only on the shikara. It consits of a garbhagriha and a mantapa , preceeded by a porch . There is a huhge inscription slab by the entrance . The presiding icon is magnificent . It is a “Protected Monument of National Importance“ under ASI .
