Visitors consistently praise Norbulingka Institute for its dedication to preserving Tibetan art and culture, highlighting the skill of the artisans and the serene beauty of the grounds. "This was one of the loveliest places I have ever stayed. The artwork and decor of my room was traditional Tibetan handicraft. My balcony overlooked the Dalai Lama temple complex and had a very peaceful ambience. The staff members were all smiling, kind and very helpful. They arranged a few services for me graciously and expeditiously. The food was good. My room was kept clean and was quite comfortable. The shower pressure was good and the water was hot. I cannot imagine having a better experience than staying here in Dharamshala. I enjoyed the silence and view of the meditation room. I posted more photos and described my experience in more detail on my blog Tiny Dancer."

"Norbulingka Institute in Dharamshala is absolutely beautiful and incredibly well maintained. The entire place feels peaceful and thoughtfully designed, with small but carefully kept gardens, flowing water, and traditional Tibetan architecture that looks timeless yet very clean and updated.

Walking through the pathways, you can see artisans working on delicate Tibetan crafts, which makes the visit even more meaningful. The museum, workshops, and temple are all stunning and rich in culture."

"Norbulingka Institute in Dharamshala is one of those places that makes traveling feel purposeful. It’s a beautiful blend of art, culture, and serenity, where every workshop and craft studio feels like a live classroom. You actually get to learn how Tibetan traditions are preserved, practiced, and passed on — and the artisans are insanely skilled. The campus is lush, peaceful, and perfect for slowing down while soaking in real knowledge. If you’re someone who travels for culture, creativity, and new perspectives, this place is an absolute must."
