What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Ramadevara Betta for its moderate trek, stunning panoramic views, and ancient temples. It's a popular spot for beginners and families seeking a short adventure near Bangalore. While vulture sightings are rare, the natural beauty and the rewarding climb make it a worthwhile visit.
"It's a good moderate level trek experience for beginers. For Half of the climb until the temple summit there are stairs and after which to reach the top there is a hill climb over large stones and rocks, At the end of the climb there is a 80° inclined steep climb over a boulder with steps carved into it for just 10-15 meters high, once completed the view is breathtaking with a view of lush greenery.
I recommend reaching the base of the place only at the opening hours as there are gates at the entrance which remain closed until the opening time. There is a vehicle parking fee of ₹25 for each bike and a separate entry fee for per person around ₹10-25 per head. Carry hard cash as online payment or card payment is not accepted here."

"Nice quiet place for hiking and bird watching, near Bangalore. There is a fee for entry, will be collected on site and no need for prior booking. Enough parking space.
After climbing the initial stairs leading to the temple, the hiking trail starts. There are two paths, one leads to the summit and the other to the sanctuary. The last stretch to the top might be difficult for the elderly, although there are railings, it is steep.
Kindly bring non disposable containers for food and water. Let's do what we can, when we can to keep the place clean. 💪🏻🌏"

"What a brilliant place, you get the opportunity to trek 500+steps, a beautiful view from the top, there are 2 temples in the top, Sunday's and public holidays devotees offer free lunch to all visitors, you can further trek to the top from the temple which will have even better view i guess.
Entry fees 25 per person, 10rs per vehicle(2 wheeler).
Best place to start for trekking with kids.
Didn't see any vultures, no need to go inside City, from express highway service road you can reach this place."

The views from the top are consistently praised as spectacular and well worth the climb. While the sanctuary is named for vultures, actual sightings are infrequent, so the primary draw is the hiking and the scenic beauty.
Visitors are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear with good grip, as the rocky sections can be slippery. Vulture Sanctuary Aspect
Despite the rarity of sightings, the area's natural environment supports diverse birdlife. Birdwatchers might still find opportunities to spot various species of local and migratory birds. The rocky hills and surrounding vegetation create a habitat conducive to a range of avian species.
For those keen on wildlife, it's important to remember that sanctuaries are about preserving ecosystems. The focus remains on enjoying the natural beauty and the trekking experience.
