What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Pasupatheswarar Temple Thiruvedagam for its significant spiritual aura and the captivating legend of the Vaigai River miracle. It's a revered 'Padal Petra Sthalam' and considered a lucky temple. However, some express disappointment regarding the preservation of its original architectural heritage during renovations.
"At a time when there was arguments about who is greater Lord Shiva or Lord Vishnu. All the writings and inscriptions about Lord Shiva were deemed as wrong and thrown into the river. Against the flow of the river all the inscriptions came and banked at this spot. This is how the temple got its name. Calm and serene temple. We reached here at 6.15am but the temple was opened only at 6.45am."

"Yesterday we visited this temple with our family. Beautiful temple. Thirugnasambandaral padal petra sthalam .
It seems while temple renovation, they have not retained the old structure. Doors are looking very simple and ordinary. Even the stone pillars are not retained. Very sad to note all these things. HR&CE people are least bothered about the heritage value."
