Reviews Summary
Kollengode Palace is appreciated for its unique Kerala-Dutch architecture and serene gardens, offering a peaceful escape. While the museum is small, the historical artifacts and mural replicas provide a glimpse into the past. Visitors highlight the friendly staff and affordability, making it a pleasant, if brief, visit.
"The construction of home is entirely different from what we see on the modern days. We will be confused for connecting each room with multiple doors to go in and out. I think there is a big role in vasthu behind this kind of construction. I have noticed lots of similarities in different Palace constructed during that period of time. Always the kitchen is on the left side when you are facing the Palace. Always the kitchen is accompanied by a store room and the fresh water well is linked with it. Another thi k I noticed is the height. Its too high that you cannot reach the top of the sealing without a ladder. I was wondering how they used the clean the ceiling. Kitchen is soo big with plenty of ventilation. Seems like there were lots of people in the house and they cooked lots of food 3 times a day. There is stairs from inside and outside the house. May be the stairs outside is used for guests. We can only guess the answers for most of the doubts comes in your mind. But it's always good to visit such places to understand or to get some idea regarding our history or the people who lived in past."
ENGINEERING INVESTIGATION
"(Visited in August 2025) - Kollengode Palace is a classic example of Kerala-Dutch architecture and it houses the Thrissur District Heritage Musuem. The museum is small, and includes few replicas of mural paintings of the more famous Mattancherry Palace of Fort Kochi. I went at 4.30 PM, and although the museum was about to close, the staff were friendly and kind enough to allow me to venture and explore this small museum. The entry fee is Rs.20/- per head (Adult Indian)."

"It's mentioned the museum is top notch in tourism Thrissur and i went.

I can't find any great collection when conpared with folkfore museum or kerala museum.
Just misleading and most of them when we see is resemblance of some other museum.
Anyway for couple its good place in the garden to chill relax and enjoy as no queue or no one.
i entered the museum @13:30 and CSR told me it's lunch time and to come back after 2 pm or else I can take ticket and sit there spacious garden. I asked them I'll go to the zoo and come meanwhile I can keep my bike here. He politely agreed as it difficult for me to park in the road towards zoo. Just 500m from there is zoo.
Wedding shoot photography was going on when i visited as i spent 30 minutes and no one else was there. So give a try if you want to peacefully spent some time with anyone seeing the paintings in the garden and for photoshoot."
