Reviews Summary

Sevasi Stepwell is lauded as a hidden gem with stunning historical architecture and intricate carvings, offering a serene escape. However, many visitors note its poor maintenance and the need for better preservation efforts by authorities, which detracts from its potential.Reddit+1

"It’s important to preserve and maintain such historical places. Unfortunately, no significant efforts seem to have been made to protect this stepwell’s dignity and historical value. The government should take initiatives to develop and promote these sites so that more people can visit and learn about our rich history."

RAVI CHITRODA

"A hidden gem tucked away in Sevasi, this ancient stepwell offers a glimpse into Gujarat’s rich architectural heritage. The stone corridors, intricately carved pillars, and peaceful surroundings create a serene atmosphere perfect for history enthusiasts and photographers. Although slightly weathered, the raw, untouched beauty of the structure adds to its charm. A must-visit for those seeking a quiet and culturally rich experience."

Harshil Padhiyar

"This is an interesting historical landmark in this part of Baroda or Vadodara. It is tucked away at the corner of the junction where there is a banyan tree on Sevasi Road.
It was built in honour of a venerated saint from Sevasi village called Saint Vidyadhar. It was built by the Gujarat Sultanate king Mahmud Begda in the 15th century.
There are intricate carvings on the columns and walls
It now has a small temple on the premises. This may have been done by the village people to discourage anyone from misusing the property. It could be better maintained by the ASI or Vadodara Municipal Corporation."
