"Popularly known as the Thai Temple, Wat Thai Sarnath Temple was built by Thai dignitaries in the year 1933. Adorned with manicured gardens, the Thai Temple is built in the Thai architectural style and is managed by Thai Buddhist Monks. The Thai temple in Sarnath is a peaceful and beautiful place. It looks different from the other older Buddhist sites there with its colorful decorations and sloping roofs. Inside, there is a shiny golden statue of Buddha. It is a quiet spot where people and monks can pray and meditate peacefully. The temple shows how Buddhism traveled to places like Thailand, and how they have their own lovely way of following it. An important highlight of the Thai Temple in Sarnath is the 80-foot 9- inches tall image of Buddha in a standing position. The construction of the statue is said to have taken more than a decade. There are running fountains with blooming lotus flowers before approaching the statue. A variety of flowers of various colors grow in the compound. The temple complex also includes an old tree that is muffled up with a striking shawl of gold leaf. Around the temple complex, there are more statues of Lord Buddha in various mudras. Entry to the temple in Varanasi requires tickets. Parking facilities are located nearby. The temple is accessible to wheelchair users. This is a beautiful and highly recommended place to visit in Varanasi."
