"Pambadum Shola, Kerala's smallest National Park, is a tranquil paradise for nature enthusiasts. Its expansive grasslands are a vital habitat for rare wildlife endemic to the Western Ghats, such as the elusive Nilgiri Marten. The park's serene atmosphere makes it the perfect weekend getaway for those seeking peace and quiet. A highly recommended experience is trekking the historic Munnar-Kodaikanal Escape Road. Visitors will find the officials exceptionally cordial and helpful, adding to the wonderful experience. "Pampadum Shola National Park is a beautiful wildlife sanctuary famous for the shola forests as well as for its flora and fauna. You can reach Pampadum Shola through the Munnar-Mattuppetty-Vattavada road. At Pampadum Shola there is a Forest Department Dormitory and some guest houses for tourists. The dormitory is an excellent place to stay if you are a lover of nature and wildlife. There is a very good chance of seeing wild gaur on the road and sometimes in front of the dormitory."

"We stayed in kurinji room. The view from the room was absolutely out of the world. We had visited it during the first week of January. The staff had informed us that we would be able to see Indian gaur by 5 pm and we could! We were able to spot nilgiri langur eating berries on a tree, a herd of Indian Gaur grazing on grassland, a horse which had escaped from tourist area and at night there were wild elephants. We were advised not to go outside during the night since there were elephants. Still we could hear their trumpet and cracking sound of tree branches. And even if you don't get to see animals, the place itself offers serenity with its winding roads and pines. The stay was basic. It's absolutely safe for families since we had 2 families with kids staying at the property on the same day. There was no heater and it was bone chilling cold in January with temperature about 4-6°c at night. But the staff had given as blankets and hot water. The staff were amiable and the food was also good. We woke up early in morning to catch a glimpse of crackling ice and snow beneath our shoes. Sharing some pictures now. NB: only those who take the stay inside the National Park are allowed to stop inside it."
