"This is the third highest peak in Kerala and second longest trek with around 50 kms of hard trek. This hill contains a temple for the sage Agasthiyar. This is the deity of Kani Tribals who are utilized as trekking guides for the Agasthya Koodam trek. The view consists of three dams two in Kerala and one in Tamilnadu ambasamudram and the peaks of Pancha Podhigai and Naga Podhigai and various other peaks are mesmerising and you get the reward for a hard trek. The place is very windy and cool and normally beyond 12 noon people are not allowed in this peak because of unpredictable weather. Many a times the trekkers are stopped at Pongala Para and returned. It all depends upon the days climate. The later part of 40 days trek is bit sunny but definite of visiting the peak. The cloud kissed mountains are a treat for anyone."
