"Remains of Buddhist temple and Vihara were found here in 1935-36 by Archaeological Survey of India.
A circular temple or Chaitya had wooden pillars and Vihara was built using burnt bricks. All these are dated to 3rd century BCE. Ashokan edicts were also found here.
Some of the items are in Kolkata museum.
Remains are rearranged and preserved by ASI on the hill named Beejak Dungri. A ramp and some stairs have been built facilitating the climb to the hill top.
