Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the White Rann of Kutch, calling it a 'magical white wonderland' and one of the most beautiful places in India. The surreal salt desert, especially during sunrise, sunset, and full moon nights, leaves a lasting impression. The vibrant Rann Utsav adds a rich cultural layer with music, dance, and local crafts.
"White Desert – Truly One of the Most Beautiful Places in Our Country
The White Rann is an incredible stretch of white salt desert. We reached around 5:12 pm and spent nearly three hours soaking in its beauty. The place is located very close to the Pakistan border.
We witnessed a magical sunset on one side and a glowing full moon on the other. The sun set at around 6:43 pm, but even by 7:30, the desert was still gently lit. Our eyes truly became the best camera to capture this moment — no photo could do it justice.
By 8:30 pm, the moonlight over the white salt made the entire desert shimmer like silver. Later, we enjoyed Gujarati folk songs performed at the Rann Utsav and at our stay near the desert.
As the sunset happens late here, sunrise also takes its time — the actual sunrise appeared around 7:25 am, right in the middle of the vast white salt desert. It was a breathtaking sight to start the day with."

"Magical White Wonderland!
The White Desert of Kutch in Dhordo is one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever visited! The endless stretch of white salt flats shimmering under the sun is truly surreal. It's especially magical during the Rann Utsav, with cultural programs, camel rides, local crafts, and delicious Kutchi food.
Sunrise and sunset views here are simply unforgettable. At night, under the full moon, the desert glows beautifully—like walking on snow! The area is clean, well-managed, and there are plenty of tents and resorts nearby for a comfortable stay.
A must-visit destination in Gujarat. Don’t miss this natural wonder!"

"One of the best sunsets I’ve ever witnessed was at the White Rann. If you stay at Tent City, they organize a trip to a special viewpoint, but you can also visit this spot on your own. The area is vast and offers breathtaking views, though you do need to walk a bit to reach an unobstructed spot.
The experience of watching the sun set over the expansive salt desert is truly unforgettable and a must-see when visiting the region. Highly recommended for nature and photography lovers alike."
