What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tadiandamol Peak offers a rewarding trek with stunning, often misty, views, especially during the monsoon. While the trek is generally manageable, some find the entry fee high for the limited facilities. Be prepared for leeches during the rainy season and the slippery terrain.
"Trek was of medium difficulty but the views were really astonishing. Would suggest to book tickets online and download the tickets beforeahand. Also, try to start early in the morning and carry some snacks and lots of water with you. Enjoy the trek and the dogs."

"Tadiandamol is one of the best treks to experience during the monsoon. The trail comes alive with lush greenery and misty views, making it a truly scenic adventure. Do carry salt or Dettol, as leeches are quite common during this season. The final stretch can be a bit challenging, but it adds to the thrill of the trek. Overall, a fun and refreshing monsoon trek—absolutely worth it!"

"Tadiandamol Trek – Monsoon Magic in Coorg
Tadiandamol is the highest peak in Coorg, and one of the most beautiful treks I’ve ever done — especially during the monsoon. Surrounded by misty Shola forests, grassy trails, and pure peace, it’s perfect if you love nature and quiet places.
I went with a friend — no trek package, no guide, nothing booked. Just wanderlust and a backpack.
We took a KSRTC night bus from Bangalore Satellite Bus Stand at 11:20 PM and reached Virajpet around 4:40 AM. We were actually supposed to get down at Napoklu, which is closer to the trek base, but we got off a bit early at Virajpet.
Luckily, a kind anna who was heading to his village from Bangalore offered to share his auto with us(we paid ₹400)
He finally dropped us near Nalknad Palace, which was quiet and totally isolated — felt like no one had gone there in years.
The palace was built in 1792 by Dodda Veerarajendra, and with its carved pillars and old verandahs, it still holds a haunting kind of charm. We even got a small scare seeing our own shadow in a mirror inside! 😅
From there, we walked about 2–3 km along the forest road. It was adventurous — broken fences, signs of elephants, and even a few small waterfalls on the way. We were actually searching for breakfast the entire time, but all shops were closed until we reached the parking spot at the trek base.
There we found Akka’s shop, which serves bread omelet(₹70), Maggi(₹60), and even lunch if you inform her in advance.
At forest office- trek starting point ,We registered our names, got our bags checked, and began the trek.
The trail goes through beautiful Shola forests. It was raining lightly, fog all around, and leeches everywhere. But we were enjoying it — walking, running, singing songs. The forest opened into wide green grasslands, and the view was just magical. Then came the steep section.
Finally, we reached the top — full fog, cold wind, and total silence. We had home-packed lemon rice while sitting in the clouds —… unforgettable.
We started descending around 11:30 AM. It was raining nicely
The shop uncle gave us a jeep ride back down for just ₹50 each. He even dropped us at the bus stop
But of course, we took the wrong bus again 😅 — got into one going to Madikeri instead of Virajpet. So from Madikeri, we had lunch and then took a bus to Mysore, and finally back to Bangalore the same night."
