What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
16 Ilir Market offers an authentic Palembang experience with its vast array of goods and delicious, affordable pempek. Visitors appreciate the local vibe and proximity to the Ampera Bridge, though some note ongoing renovations and the need for caution regarding belongings and navigating the terrain. It's a true taste of local life.
"I came here to eat Pempek curah, priced around 1000 rupiahs per pcs. The location is in front near the LRT line. My advice is to be wise in choosing the vendors. When I went there, I just randomly chose a place with an empty seat. The cuko was good, but the pempek itself somewhat less fresh compared to the vendor next door, whose pempek looked more tempting. So, my suggestion is to take a look at the displayed pempek first, don't rush.
The vendors don't sell drinks, but many drink sellera roam around offering drinks to those eating pempek. Be careful with your belongings because there are many people passing by behind
The market itself is not great. Many buildings are currently under renovation. The streets are bad, with lots of potholes and muddy after rain. It's scorching hot when the sun is out. So, prepare an umbrella and wear cool clothing. The only good thing here is the view of the Ampera Bridge"
