What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Barombong Bridge is a vital connector but is notorious for severe traffic jams due to its narrowness and driver behavior. Despite this, the area is highly praised for its breathtaking sunsets, making it a popular spot for evening relaxation and photography, with hopes for future infrastructure improvements.
"This bridge is important as it connects the Barombong district to the Makassar city centre. However, due to poor planning, this bridge is almost always choked with traffic. The main reason behind the constant slow traffic movement is a small road along the Jeneberang riverbank. The usual Indonesian drivers' mentality prevail here. That is , if you want to cross or join the main traffic flow, just put your vehicle out into oncoming traffic. Almost always, the traffic will have to stop to avoid accidents from happening. That is when the traffic flow is disturbed and stops. Never a smooth flow on this bridge."
