Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Japanese Shipwreck in Amed for its incredible accessibility and vibrant marine life, making it a top spot for snorkelers and beginner divers. The affordability and convenience of renting gear and enjoying local food add to its appeal. While the wreck itself is smaller than some others, the sheer abundance of fish and colorful corals makes it a highly recommended experience for all ages. InstagramReddit+1

"This is a great snorkelling spot!! If you're in Amed, you must go.

A variety of colourful corals and fish are just 10m off shore!! Even a beginner snorkeller like me and my 11 yo child could do it easily and enjoy the "view." We saw younger kids enjoying it as well😊

Looks like you normally need to pay at the entrance, but it comes with a drink or sth at the warung on the beach (it's a stone beach, btw).
You can also rent snorkelling gear and waterproof camera there. We rented one camera and one set of fins with IDR 225,000. We think it was a good deal.
They said they'd give us the data via WhatsApp.

Oh, maybe ask the staff at the warung for the entering point. Depending on the current, the entering point will differ."

"Wonderful snorkeling spot if you avoid crowds. Pay 25k at the entrance and get excellent place to chill, have a drink (included in the ticket price) and rent a snorkel gear."

"This is my first time snorkeling here in the wreck. The wreck is small but beautiful. Its not far from the shore. Its perfect to bring kids. There is no current at all when I'm visiting..

The water is so clear. Also surround the wreck there are beautiful corals. So so beautiful. I spend more than 2 hours here.

Also there is a local warung that you can dine in. The food is very cheap yet very good. We ordered Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng for the kids.

Definitely will be back!"
