"This is a very big and beautiful longhouse I have ever seen in Mahakam rive. The house is a good maintenance. Don’t have much tourists come during my visit. There used to have many activities to promote the Dayak culture in the first stores. We arrived at noon. There is a man who look after this longhouse, he opened the door for me to visit. No one living in this longhouse. The day after our visit is the 60th ( I maybe remember wrong, will double check) anniversary of independence of Mancong. We were invited to try the traditional food preparing for big event. A welcome and generous treating, made us feel like home. Such a nice community and culture. We walked around to the village . During the low tides, we couldn’t by boat but by motorbike. Bikes are rented from Tangjung Isuy for Rp 300k/2bikes with drivers, higher than the locals do. You can rent a bike and go to Mancong by yourself, super easy and you don’t get lost. Or just simply walk if you have time or stay in Mancong."
