Reviews Summary
Manta Point is a must-visit for its incredible manta ray encounters, offering an almost guaranteed chance to swim with these gentle giants. While the boat journey can be rough and the site can get crowded, the sheer magic of seeing multiple mantas makes it a highly rewarding experience. Visitors emphasize respecting the marine life and choosing tours wisely.
"Skip Manta Bay and the other places, and just visit Manta Point for your snorkeling if seeing and swimming with Manta Rays is your thing. The chances of seeing Manta Rays at Manta Point is like 80%. It's almost a sure bet! At Manta Bay the chances are like 20% (more like 10% to be honest from what we've been told by our amazing guides we had in Bali/Nusa Penida). We went a bit "late" there, usually most guides prefer to take the visitors there in the early morning to avoid "bad weather" and big waves and currents. We arrived around 3pm. There was only one other boat there with a few divers. We were about 12 people in the water and around 15 manta rays swimming along us! It was a very memorable moment given our "low score" of snorkeling places in Greece (where we reside). Be sure to not "interact" with the mantas and keep the environment clean and free of garbage. This place is a "gift" to us and the fish in the sea, treat it with respect!"

"An amazing dive site to see Manta Rays in their natural habitat. They visit the reef to use as a cleaning station and bask in the current. It gets busy here with dive and snorkelling boats. Avoid weekends and holidays for the best experience. I visited with Bali Diving Academy and we were one of only two boats there."

"The tour lasted around 3 hours in total, with about 45 min one way to reach Manta Point for snorkelling with manta rays. There were twelve people on the boat. The trip itself was the worst and most frightening boat ride I have ever experienced. The waves were very strong, and every time they hit, the boat lifted one to two meters and then slammed back onto the surface with a hard impact. I would recommend choosing a shorter snorkelling tour (200-250k IDR) instead of Manta Point (350-400k IDR).
The best part was definitely the manta rays. At one point, we saw five together. They were huge, calm, and friendly. Seeing them was an amazing experience."
