"Very unique mosque, it’s a work of art. Definitely dont miss this if you go to tempak sewu. Might as well stop here since it’s on the way there. If you want to go to the upper floors, you have to take off your shoes and socks which i didnt want to do, but there was still a lot to see from the outside"

"MASJID TIBAN TUREN

Masjid Tiban, or more precisely, the full name is Pondok Pesantren Salafiah Bihaaru Bahri Asali Fadlaailir Rahmah is a large mosque and Islamic boarding school complex located in Turen, Malang Regency, East Java, Indonesia.

Reading about it online or seeing it on social media doesn’t do it justice, you really have to visit it in person to truly understand and experience it.

We visited on a Tuesday afternoon. Surprisingly, there were no other visitors besides us. After registering at the front desk and receiving a visitor card, we were guided around the complex by a staff member who explained different parts of the site.

In my opinion, this is one of the strangest buildings in the world. There are countless rooms, winding staircases like a maze, and yes! it’s pretty confusing to navigate. We explored the place at night, which made the atmosphere even more eerie. Some corners felt spooky and even a bit creepy.

However, when you look at the materials used: the wall tiles, marble floors, onyx stone lamps, and carved furniture - they clearly aren’t cheap. That might be what gives the entire complex a sense of luxury, regardless of its unconventional architecture and artistic choices."

"This could be one of amazing mosque I ever seen. The architecture, interior design & decorations really fascinating & unique.
No entrance fee or ticket is needed. Everyone can come here and enter the mosque freely (but please make sure to wear proper attire because you're entering Muslim holy places).
This mosque consist of 10 level but the upper level still under construction, thus some areas are restricted to enter unless for construction workers.
There are retail shops (at Level 8 if not mistake), mini garden, mini aquaria, rest area, and many more inside this mosque.
Special thanks to Pak Ariffin (sorry if I spell his name wrongly) who kindly guide us to tour this mosque almost an hour & not hesitate to share history of this mosque. Feel free to donate some money before you go back to fund local people who come here to study and also the construction work."
