"Desa Melo, near Kota Labuan Bajo, is presented as home to the region's sole remaining traditional house. We arrived without pre-booking or paying an entrance fee, which meant we missed the scheduled traditional dance. However, our visit was far from disappointing. A lovely local woman generously offered us a guided walk, pointing out fascinating details before we entered the traditional house. Inside, we were warmly welcomed by several women and Pak Yosef. We spent over 30 minutes in engaging conversation, learning about traditional food, local events, and ceremonies. We also purchased a beautiful piece of fabric. The people were incredibly generous with their time and knowledge. Before departing, we made a donation, captured a few more photos, and left with a truly heartwarming experience. This isn't a staged, commercial attraction; it's an opportunity to connect with genuine, kind-hearted people and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the natural surroundings."

"Went there for a cultural experience. First we were escorted to a house and received greetings. Then we went outside to watch three dances. The place to watch the dance was not comfy at all. The chair was very narrow not supporting our bodies, we were served hot coffee and tea in such a hot weather. I think iced ones will be better"

"It's a sanggar (traditional art center which usually used for dancing/music training & performance). A mini complex where there is one traditional house to welcome visitors. They will briefly explain about the house & traditional tools inside. And you'll be expected to donate or buy their products. They have locally produced coffees, traditional cloth, etc with reasonable price. If you come in a group, you can contact them to arrange a traditional dance performance on your visit (with a fee). Alternatively, they said the did perform regularly in the morning for certain days. Do check with them if you are interested."
