What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Nongsa Point Marina & Resort offers a tranquil escape with picturesque marina views at an affordable price, making it a decent option for families seeking peace. However, potential guests should be aware of dated rooms, inconsistent service, and limited dining options, as some visitors have reported significant issues with cleanliness and amenities.
"Location wise is quite far from the city centre but we’re aware of it and decided to give a chance since we love the view. Very nice place with marina view BUT the villa is terrible. A simple basic amenities not provided properly. The room is very dated and untidy - the floor very dusty and full of human hair. Bath towels were on the floor and used by the previous guest as we checked in. We booked for two nights but decided to leave the resort immediately but the management upgraded our room to so called “better” room. But the so called better room is nowhere near to 3 star hotel standard. Worse experience ever! Not recommended."

"I feel it’s important to share my honest experience here so others are aware before booking.
We arrived at 2:00 PM for check-in, but unfortunately were only given access to our room at 4:00 PM. While a few receptionists seemed attentive, the one assisting us left us waiting, claiming the room was still being cleaned. Yet when we finally entered the room after 2 hours, cleaners were still inside and only left after another 10 minutes which felt really unprofessional.
The room itself was disappointing and dingy, with unsafe, narrow stairs. On top of that, key amenities such as the Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and fan on the main floor did not work. This was especially frustrating given the extreme heat and the fact that these amenities had been promised when booking.
We raised these concerns with the owner, but instead of resolving the issue, we were met with rudeness and a refusal to provide any refund. In the end, we had to leave the resort without any compensation, which felt deeply unfair given the circumstances. Our experience was unpleasant from start to finish, and we left feeling frustrated, uncomfortable, and unwelcome.
The only good thing was the food we bought at the restaurant while waiting the 2 hours which we had to pay extra for."

"Rooms are all right, some of the amenities are old i.e Electric kettle, fridge

They do not allow grab food to the resort.
Resort food does not taste very good.
The place is not expensive, so you get what you pay for."

Navigating Your Stay: Tips from Fellow Travelers
Service speed is another recurring theme in reviews. Be prepared for potentially slow service at the restaurant and reception. This is often linked to the resort's more relaxed pace, which can be a pro for some seeking to disconnect, but a con for those on a tight schedule. The rooms themselves are described as dated, with some amenities showing their age. While the resort is affordable, guests expecting modern luxury might be disappointed. However, for families looking for a peaceful, budget-friendly getaway, it can still be a viable option, especially if you focus on the scenic views and the quiet atmosphere.
Despite some drawbacks, the resort does have its champions. A standout mention was a staff member named Vina, praised for her helpfulness and English proficiency, demonstrating that excellent service can still be found. This highlights that while the infrastructure might be aging, the human element can significantly enhance a guest's experience. For those who prioritize peace and a scenic waterside setting over cutting-edge facilities, Nongsa Point Marina & Resort can still offer a pleasant stay.
Understanding the Nongsa Point Marina Experience
However, it's important to note that the resort's facilities and services have received mixed reviews. Many guests have pointed out that the rooms are dated and could benefit from renovation. Issues such as dusty floors, untidy conditions, and even finding used towels upon check-in have been reported, leading to significant disappointment for some. Furthermore, essential amenities like Wi-Fi and air conditioning have been noted as not working in some instances, which can be particularly problematic given Batam's tropical climate.
The service at Nongsa Point Marina & Resort is also a point of contention. While some staff members are praised for their attentiveness, others have been described as slow or unprofessional. The resort's policy of not allowing outside food delivery services like GrabFood means guests are reliant on the in-house restaurant, which some reviewers found to be of average quality. Therefore, while the Nongsa Point Marina Resort Batam offers a unique setting, potential visitors should weigh the affordability and peaceful environment against the reported issues with room condition and service.
