What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Pemuteran Beach is praised for its tranquil atmosphere and unique black sand, offering a peaceful escape. Visitors appreciate the innovative Bio-Rock coral restoration projects and the accessible snorkeling. However, some reviews mention litter on the beach, which detracts from its natural beauty.
"Very lovely beach, black sand.
The tide was high which removes basically all the beach tho."
Anton
"A beautiful beach but covered in litter. A lot of the coastline has rows of restaurants, cafes, beach chair rentals and snorkelling agencies and yet all staff look onwards at the rubbish and do nothing. Staff will remove the dropped flowers on the cafe lawns but won't do anything to clear up the beach. Most likely a side effect of tourism in Bali which is a shame, but more needs to be done by both tourists and locals."
Daisy Bostanli
"This is infuriating!!! And a massive problem not isolated only to Bali but most of Asia.
Litter, rubbish, plastic all over on shores of this paradise island.
It all starts on the ground level … lack of education, no personal responsibility, no penalties, no effective system in place to recycle ♻️
People are burning pails of plastic in their back gardens at night everywhere I go in Bali!
There’s so many things that can be done to not only educate but also implement a system using media and big chain companies etc…."
