"This place might be small, but rich in history. You can learn what Soekarno did while he was exiled in Bencoolen. This is not the exact replica of how the house looked like back then because some part of the house is curated to be museum. But you can still feel the magical atmosphere of it. There is also an old well in the backyard that still in function. The myth says if you wash your face using the water from the well, you can stay young and will get the charisma of Soekarno. Well, it is yours to believe π
All in all, this site is worth the visit! The ticket price is so affordable ranging from Rp5k-Rp10k only. I recommend you take the guide to tell the full history and do come in the morning, simply because the sky is so blue and it is more beautiful than in the afterrnoon. I know because I visited this place two times, one in the morning around 8 AM and one in the afternoon around 4 PM.
I didn't attach the photos or videos inside the house, so you can witness the magic on your own! π"

"Insightful place to know better President Soekarno as a person and how his learnings/reflection during the exile helps him shaping the vision he about to bring out for Indonesia's independence.

"This place is one of the house that being situated for politically exiled person. In this case, Soekarno, one of the founding fathers of Indonesia, had live in this place after being exiled by the Netherland.
I love how the recent rennovation with the place create a fresh new color and aura, in which invites you to come (:
The museum operator and maintenance team had done a good job, starting from the ticket-person, security (which sometimes they guide you around), also the gardener.
Inside, you can found many artifacts, including books made by Soekarno. Although, I hope they digitized the book and let us read it there.
But more than that, you could also find some history of one of Indonesian founding fathers. Place it together, and you will find that Bengkulu had been one place that shape Republic of Indonesia's first president."
