Tangkoko Nature Reserve is lauded for its incredible biodiversity and the chance to see unique endemic wildlife, particularly the Spectral Tarsier and Sulawesi Crested Macaque. Visitors praise the knowledgeable guides who enhance the wildlife spotting experience. However, some reviews mention concerns about litter and certain guiding practices that could be improved for better animal welfare.
"Nice jungle, we did the morning (4hr) and the evening tour (2) hour. The morning tour was realy great we had a english speaking guide from guesthouse Tangkoko Hill with a telescope to view all the animals and make pictures through it. I did not like the evening tour because the Hunt to see the small monkeys comes with flashlights and laserpens to point them. The walk itsself is very easy. We did it on sandals with socks because we did not had hiking shoes. But its realy worthwhile. See the pictures. The entrance fee is 100.000 IDR. If you do both walks on one day you can Use the ticket twice. Face & Inst Tompie Limbo"

"Would be a nice national park if it wasn’t full of garbage and the people would actually take care of it. At the entrance someone is blasting loud music at 6am, there is an insane amount of trash inside and the guides make animal noises with their phones to get the animals to react (never seen something like this in any other national park).
You need to train your guides better when it comes to how to behave with wildlife and pay someone to clean up the plastic trash to avoid animals being exposed to it"

"Excellent jungle which is not crouded. Original jungle with many special mammals and birds. Ranger guide are super good and help you to both navigate in the jungle, but also to spot animals. Have a bottle of water and some snack. The tour takes 3-4h. Good closed walking shoes are must to have."
