What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Wonorejo Mangrove Ecotourism for its natural beauty, affordable prices, and the refreshing escape it offers from the city. The boat tours and wildlife spotting are frequently highlighted as enjoyable experiences. However, some reviewers mention that certain facilities could benefit from better maintenance and that trash management could be improved.
"Understated and insufficiently advertised. For IDR25k per person (foreigner) you can join a wooden boat ferry along a river channel to the estuary, where there is an elevated bamboo walkway to a number of sheltered open sided wooden buildings also on stilts. For there you can observe the picturesque mangrove coast, with Madura visible across the sea. There are WC facilities at the estuary and wildlife includes monkeys, thousands of mudskipper fish at low tide, fishing birds and we even saw a small alligator scurrying into the bank of the river channel. Back on mainland, there are lots of local food sellers and a 'jogging' track into the reserve."

"I loved visiting here. It is a refreshing breath from the city and if you linger in a spot for a given time you will find plenty of wildlife including but not limited to lizards, crabs, birds, and butterflies. It is true that there is more trash than I would like to see but I think it is worth visiting if only to help preserve the mangroves."
