Reviews Summary

The Reza Abbasi Museum is a compact and charming cultural gem in Tehran, praised for its diverse collection of Iranian art spanning millennia, from ancient pottery to intricate Islamic miniatures. While some visitors find the lack of English descriptions and poor air conditioning in galleries to be drawbacks, its unique artifacts and tranquil atmosphere make it a highly recommended visit for art and history lovers.

"It is an underwhelming museum in downtown Tehran. Reza Abbasi was a prominent painter, after whom this museum is named, but there is literally nothing of his works here. The museum is on three floors. You start from the third floor where pre-Islam artefacts are kept; the first two floors are calligraphy of the Islamic period. The museum has very poor air conditioning, which covers only the corridors and not the galleries. During hot months, it is quite uncomfortable to walk around."

Reza Sattarzadeh Nowbari

"One of the most magnificent places to visit in Tehran.
Since 1977, the museum bought by Farah Pahlavi, the queen of Iran.
The purpose was to save the artifacts and gifts from different countries.
In the museum we may see the artifacts for more than 2000 years.
Islamic period and two exhibition for miniature and calligraphy.
Very recommend to visit."

Nikan Nazari

"Hidden in an anonymous building this museum will surprise you with fine pieces. Start from third floor and gradually descend to the first to have a panoramic of Iranian history. Unfortunately most of descriptions are in Farsi and there isn't a book to guide you through the halls. Anyway it is a play worthy to be visited!!!"
