Lady Gregory – folklorist, writer and patron of the arts – spent much of her life at Coole Park in Galway and was buried in Bohermore Cemetery. Your resident graveyard enthusiast went on a ramble to find her. Reviews Summary

Bohermore Cemetery is praised for its immaculate upkeep and peaceful atmosphere, offering a poignant glimpse into Galway's history. Visitors appreciate the well-maintained grounds and the opportunity to reflect at significant memorials, though some note potential early closing times and limited parking.

"Bohermore Cemetery (also known as New Cemetery) was open in 1880. It has both a Catholic and a Protestant mortuary chapel. Operated by the Galway City Council, it is a "lawn style" cemetery and it looks to be at capacity.

The cemetery does contain several memorials and the final resting place of a number of famous people including Pádraic Ó Conaire (there is a replica statue in Eyre Square and the original in the Galway City Museum), William Joyce (aka Lord Haw-Haw) and victims of KLM Flight 607-E that crashed in 1958.

It has a narrow entrance and a few parking spaces. I would not recommend it for larger vehicles - park on the street if you must."
