No parking nearby but once you get there you find a very tranquil and peaceful place to explore. At first glance the climb looks a little steep but to the side is an almost flat area to access the centre of the fort.

"Incredible place. Very calm & picturesque location. Good place to have a walk around. It has a rich history. Well worth a visit. Parking is not widely available, need to park on curbs. Considering it's significance was expected to see a Fort. Worth reconstruction."

"Amazing place. Steeped in history. Well worth having a read about it. Wikipedia has a great write up. Photos don't do justice to the scale of the place and depth of the moat. Fortunately we walked out to it as there's only parking for a couple of cars across from the entrance. Not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs as its a turnstile entrance. Wonderful views down the river."
