Reviews Summary
Durty Nelly's is celebrated for its historic charm and delicious, hearty Irish cuisine, offering a truly authentic pub experience. While many praise the food and cozy atmosphere, some visitors have reported inconsistent service during peak times. "appalling service we had a reservation for two at 8:30 p.m We arrived on time were seated given menus and water. However, after that we were left waiting over 30 minutes before anyone came to take our order or even ask if we would like a drink. The restaurant was not busy at all, so there was no reason for such neglect. At one point, a senior waitress appeared to notice that we had been sitting without food or drinks and started walking toward our table, but the young waitress shouted over to her, They're okay. It was clear that the senior waitress realised we had been waiting too long but after that comment she didn't approach. When the same waitress finally came to our table, she was quite rude. I asked to see a drinks menu and she said there wasn't one which was fine so l asked for a glass of Chardonnay and where it was from. She smirked and said it was Chilean. However the wine I was served was not Chardonnay. I decided not to make an issue of it as we were already feeling uncomfortable and just wanted to eat and leave. Later, we managed to get the attention of another young waitress, who was very polite and helpful, and through her we ordered more drinks. This time, I received the correct wine. At no point during the meal did anyone check in to ask if everything was okay. We have always enjoyed the food in this restaurant it's consistently delicious but the service during this visit was an absolute disgrace. We drove over 40 minutes to dine here and left feeling upset and unwelcome. After the experience we had we will never return. I have never experienced anything like this in any restaurant I have ever been to. The management of this place should be ashamed that customers are being treated in such an unprofessional and disrespectful way. No one should have such an experience at any restaurant, especially when paying for both food and service. I wanted to share this feedback so you're aware of how poorly guests are being treated as this level of service is completely unacceptable."

"Very good food and very good service. It's a busy place so you'll need to book a table. We were seare drift by the accessible entrance, which was ideal as a member of our party is a wheelchair user. We didn't have to wait long to order and receive our food and the staff were very friendly. If I'm ever local again I will return."

"We stopped here for lunch while visiting Buratty Castle. It was not an issue to tour the castle, take a break for lunch, and reenter the grounds to tour some more. Ordered the Irish lasagna and the ham/cheese toastie sandwich (you can add chips for €3 and soup for another €3). Food was excellent. There's a little bit of a wait at peak times, especially in larger groups."
