"A beautiful early medieval Christian site, well worth a visit, the Romanesque church ruin dates from the Norman period, but it's built on top of a much older church, and so there are remnants of earlier periods within the churchyard. These include an ogham stone, sun dial and a very early example of a stone cross. It's thought that the earlier church may have been built to replace the nearby Gallarus Oratory. An important site to the community for many centuries, this is a place that both history enthusiasts and pilgrims will enjoy."

"It's worth the visit. 8.6km from Dingle town by car. Well preserved 12th century church and beautiful, tranquil surrounding area. Also, there is a walk that leads you to the top of the hill behind the church. About 45 mins hike to the top, and you can continue down the other side to Cathair Scoilbín."
