Visitors are consistently awed by the Long Room's grandeur and historical atmosphere, often calling it a highlight of Dublin. While the Book of Kells manuscript itself is seen by some as a brief moment, the overall 'experience' and the library's architecture are widely praised. Some find the ticket price steep for the short viewing time of the book, and photography restrictions can be a drawback for some.

"We took the guided tour round Trinity university with Lilly. So informative and engaging. Great hearing all the facts and history. Amazing architecture covering so many genres. We then tour was over we did the Book od Kells exhibition. So impressed with the tour on our phones... worth downloading before hand. The book was a incredible to behold with the tour ending up in the
paint red box. A multimedia experience well worth a look."

"There is booklet for children but as an adult I find it interesting to find the answer for the booklet and earn my certificate. :) I highly recommended purchased the ticket in advance. I learned that the general admission ($19) ticket is available a day before the visiting day. If you prefer self-guided, book the ticket one day before and you will find your time to get in. Also, there is QR code for you to scan and listen (free WiFi available) along with your self guided tour. I find that I am able to spent more time and enjoy every pieces on my own pace instead of rushing for the guided tour."
