The stunning coastal views and the opportunity to watch surfers are significant draws. However, the lack of safety features on the upper levels is a recurring concern, requiring extreme caution.
"Lovely little spot. Interesting hidden staircase that goes up to the top of ramparts. Great care needed if going up there though as there are no safety barriers. Fun challenge to find the hidden staircase!"

"One of the best spots to watch waves forming, especially on a beautiful day! Castle is ok, you can walk inside it. Do sit in a stone seat by the water- super comfy!"

"It's free! Look out for the low archway on the right when you enter. Stoop down and crawl through to find stone stairs leading to the top. (How this place hasn't been closed in the interest of Health and Safety is a miracle.) Climb up to the top, for what I am sure are amazing views, unfortunately the day that I was there it was a bit misty."
