What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Spinc Trail's spectacular views and rewarding hike, calling it one of the most beautiful they've ever done. The boardwalk and summit vistas are consistently praised. However, the trail can be very popular, leading to parking challenges and crowded conditions on pleasant days.
"Took about 1 hour to climb up from the upper lake car park. Follow the red arrow. Definitely a workout going up, proper hiking experience. Will pass the waterfall on the way up. We arrived just before 12 and the car park was almost full. Surprisingly, there were many people hiking up so just follow the crowd. Friendly vibes all the way as people offer to take pictures. View was spectacular and we had our sandwiches at the top. We didn't continue with the loop, went down the same way we came up. Just wanted to see the view from the top. Can see lower lake and Glendalough Monastery."

"Lovely trail, but very popular on a pleasant Saturday afternoon. Getting parking was a challenge, had to wait & pay a fee. The trail itself was pleasant, and the crowds petered out the further along the trail you want."
Bruce Hargrave
"Amazing scenery. Best to go left at the first split of the red trail and do the back trail first and then finish with the views of the lake. We were lucky enough to see wild deers plus a decent area for bird watching, jays and pippets."
